Stories of a seemingly random assortment of murderous ladies throughout history. Telfer doesn't offer any insight into why she chose these particular women (except to say that she finds modern cases too gruesome, and thus omitted them) and I wish that had been a factor; instead, reading this book kind of feels like going on an obsessive Wikipedia deep dive, where you're just clicking from page to page to page. It's an entertaining way to eat up some time -- but it's never anything more than that.

This was great. I really liked how the information was presented and I learned about so many women i’ve never heard of.

That being said, it was also GROSS at times so if you’re squeamish, definitely be aware lol.

Really enjoyed this book. The research that went into creating it was amazing, so much detail. Such an interesting read. The layout of each story was captivating. Really really loved this book. Hoping the author will write some more similar books about other crimes.

I think I'm starting to get my mother's love of death, destruction, and mayhem. I'm not kidding, I really enjoyed this book. It was very well researched, and had just the right amount of comic relief to not make the book completely depressing. I learned a lot about different cultures through the years, and it was really fascinating. I also loved the little bit at the end to wrap everything up. And just letting the author know, it didn't seem at all like she was glorifying serial killers in the least bit. She dug deep into each lady's life and gave a great deal of background to make the killers seem more human. In most of the stories about female killers, they do tend to get portrayed as not being human. The author definitely gave some of each lady's humanity back.

I love this book!! A must-read for anybody interested in true crime, feminism, and criminal psychology. I actually hadn't even heard of most of the women in this book, and all of their stories were fascinating.
