This book has a cute premise. I just couldn’t get past the cringe and over the top mythology references. They really pulled me out of the spice.

too cringy with all the nicknames and surprise Daddy kink
This was my last one to read in this series (because I read them all in a weird order ^^) and I can say that I love the 4 books in Paddle creek so far!
I think I hadn’t read this one before because I didn’t think I would connect much with the MC (college guys MC are not my thing)
BUT boy I was wrong! Those 3 stole my heart! I should know by now that H.G Wells doesn’t disappoint me!
From the beginning I had a clear vision of who those 3 guys were, they felt so alive in my head and that’s not always an easy task since I read so many romance! I love their 3 different personalities and how protective they were of each other.
This book showed me again that sometimes one thing that could really annoy me with a mediocre writer is bearable in the hands of a skilled one! Here for example I’ll be honest and say that I should have hated the use of “little dude” by Marty or, most importantly, their uses of the Greek gods' names. But with this author it worked because I trusted her with her characters and she didn’t disappoint!
Another good sign: I finished this one hours ago and I still remember the 3 MC names which for me is a sign of quality considering my bad memory and the fact that I already started another romance.
Those books can be read in any order if you don’t mind tiny spoilers about past books. Can’t wait to see the next book!
EDIT:
I reread it to finish the year with a good book even though I had only read it in September so definitely a good sign!
EDIT 2024: 3rd reread :)

What a sweet trio of guys! We have a goofy guy, a nerdy guy, and a bit of jerky guy that somehow just fit! There is so much chemistry despite all the ups and downs as they try to bring it all together. They are young and deep down they are all very sweet! Especially on each other. The way they get started was so unique and that just proved the uniqueness of their relationship. The romance and story were so beautifully balanced. I was totally routing for these three young guys!
For me, HJ Welch's books are a go-to when I'm in the mood for something light and sweet, and Heaven Sent was no exception. The three main characters were fun to read about, and the references to the Greek Gods were an excellent bonus. My only criticism would be that Gabe's inner monologue seemed immature and slightly off-putting. I understand why the author made that choice - it gives Gabe a certain feel and matches his backstory, but it still bothered me in the beginning. As a whole, this was a fun read, and I can't wait to read more about Paddle Creek.
Entirely too many nicknames that made it entirely too cringey
DNF. This started cute, but quickly devolved. They just jumped into daddy kink randomly and it felt so contrived.
This book… is a thing. I don’t know, ya’ll. It started out as something fun and fluffy but it spiraled into NICKNAME CHAOS.
I legit made a list.
Let’s not forget that Greek gods were literal trash in the actual myths so lusting after them is pretty gross.. but all I need to highlight here are the absolutely monstrous plethora of nicknames that were used for all three MC’s interchangeably in all the scenes throughout the book. The editor should be fired. And this author is finally shelved. Ugh. This book was a MESS. The daddy thing came out of nowhere and didn’t fit with the previous plot and once that started it was just… a drug filled nickname menagerie of nonsense.
