Meh. Was looking for a Greek myth retelling that didn’t correspond with The Iliad / the Trojan War (for once) and prefer Circe to this. The reviews for this one were not promising, so I decided to DNF (for once).

I guess *spoiler alert* for a general theme? Not major spoilers though, but read at your peril:

Fuck me, that was depressing. And brilliant. I mean bloody hell men are shites. Sorry, men. But this is a retelling of some of the Greek myths from a female perspective and blimey o'riley if you aren't all complete shites. Especially gods. If I've got any gods among my friends, y'all can just about unfollow me now, you are not worth the hassle. Jeez.

In conclusion, and to write perhaps a little more of a book review, as I understand that's what you were expecting: this was a good book. Read it if you like either
a) good books
b) Greek myths
c) being depressed but in a way that also makes you quite angry

In conclusion: read this book. 4.5 stars. Also don't be a god. Gods suck. And try not to be a woman, bad things will probably happen to you.
