Such a good ending to the story. Loved the different POVs, and I didn't feel like one POV took away from another or that they were hamfisted in. Everything was just amazing.

This was a necessary sequel althought could've started better. I like when the author changes the structure in the sequel - in this sequel having three different perspectives. I wish the reunion was earlier.
Moderate: Death
Minor: Deadnaming

I'm glad I only read The Winner's Curse trilogy lately so I still remember Arin and Kestrel's story.

This book feels a lot deeper, much more emotional than the first one. How Nirrim thinks and acts since the god of thieves stole her compassion, Sid’s deepest thoughts and fiercest emotions. Some parts felt very much almost like therapy, like Sid is trying to deal with her anger, her relationships with her parents, the actions and teachings and experiences that made her who she is (whether they are traumas or not, they do hold so much weight of her entire character even now)
Even though Nirrim has lost so much of herself she still longs for love and comfort (and Sid) in the same way she did before and I think that’s so important.

Reading the last portion of this book all at once felt like all the building blocks starting to slide into their proper places, slowly at first and then faster and faster.

Spoiler
I was so worried that this book was not going to end well for Nirrim or Sid, and there’s still questions left unanswered, but the end is full of hope and love and things to come.msphq's review against another edition
