I think I understand the themes of the book -- a portrait of capital and its utter vacuousness, its inability to fully experience or communicate about anything but prophet -- and I was intrigued by he book-within-a-book structure, but... the writing is so dull, I can't make myself care about the story. Looking at a pair of loathsome people from multiple angles and perspectives is just does not make for an enjoyable reading experience.

Um livro sobre homens chatos falando sobre homens chatos. Quando uma mulher aparece, ela fala sobre homens chatos com quem convive. Tenta escrever sobre uma mulher que não sabemos nada. Terminamos o livro continuando sem saber nada. No meio de tudo isso, termos de transações financeiras e explicações das mesmas, as quais eu não poderia me importar menos.
Resumindo, chato.

Incredible concept executed incredibly well. Very slow until end of book 1, then accelerates all the way until the end. The flip near the beginning of book 3 solidified this as a really solid reading choice, especially for book groups. There’s a lot to talk about here!
