Wodehouse is great. I love the language and silliness. His descriptions and verbiage is incredibly creative and fresh and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Although somewhat lacking in ingenuity and originality, Joy in the Morning marks another hilarious entry in the Wodehouse collection.

In this particular story, Bertie finds himself ensconced at his Uncle Percy's country house Steeple Bumpleigh, an environs filled with both brilliantly named and hilarious characters including Stilton Cheesewright, Boko Fittleworth, Nobby Hopwood and, my personal favourite, Edwin the Boy Scout. Soon he finds himself entangled in all sorts of seemingly inextricable tangles. That is, until Jeeves saves the day...
The main strength of this book is Wodehouse's writing. He never makes outright jokes, but comedy is unrivalled among literature. A perfect example is this quote which still has me chuckling, when Bertie talks about his dancing skills
'[I] can out-Fred the nimblest Astaire'.
The stories are slightly repetitive if you read enough of them, with similar general framework happening every time, which is why I have deducted a star but overall, just generally great fun to read, it lightens my heart every time, and the Jeeves and Wooster books have become my go-to comfort read for when I need a bit of comic relief.

3.5 stars. This is a solid installment of the Jeeves serious. My main gripe with the last novel was that Bertie's grasping, manipulative friends were at their most graspy-manipulativeness. In this book, that theme is refreshingly absent. Bertie's friends are still getting themselves into scrapes, and they still expect Bertie (and by extension, Jeeves) to make it all right, but they don't quite resort to blackmail to get his help.
This had me laughing out load pretty frequently, the prose and the situational comedy was no less than sparking! I recommend this to any looking for a well-written humor novel-you won't be disappointed!

The ending was a bit weaker than either Thank You, Jeeves or The Code of the Woosters, but that is rather small potatoes relative to the genius of the rest.
