Interesting prelude to Spider-Verse but a mixed bag (I'm looking at you, weird Gerard Way chapter). Given how complex SV will probably be this did a good job of setting the stage.

Wow I’m obsessed with Spider-Gwen after reading this! Gotta get the next one.

Well, I guess it's OK. To be honest, I bought this graphic novel initially to read before the film of Spiderman : Across the Spider-Verse premiered.

However, I only read it after I watched the film instead. Probably because I was expecting something similar to the animated movie and I found this book does not meet my expectations.

Story of 'Gwen Stacy : Spider-Woman' is certainly the saving grace of this book and I absolutely love it. The idea of Gwen as Spidey instead of Peter Parker is intriguing and interesting in my opinion.

Interesting. But in the end kind of pointless. Mostly because I'm not a fan of endless alternate realities. And pretty much that's all the spider-verse is. Sure these small stories are mostly okay. But I'd have to care. And I basically don't

As a lead-up story to the Spiderverse, this collection is a great series of "one off" stories to set up the characters going into the crossover event. Issues 2,3and5 were all especially great. Comics #4 was one of the most disturbing Spiderman comics I've seen but it sets up the character in a really interesting way for following comics (I presume). Comic #1 is pretty cool and I love Spiderman Noir, I just found it short. Overall a nice quick read for some context going into Spiderverse.
