So I am a HUGE K-Pop fan... So when I was looking for a light read inbetween all the fantasy and SciFi that I generally read, I scooped this one up.
Let me reinforce that I do not generally read these romance books. I am totally cynical and find a lot of these super cringey.
But...
I did enjoy that this book seemed like it was going to be more focused on Lucky and therefore be told by Lucky. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Jack had a lot more of the narration. It was refreshing that a lot of it was from his point of view and not just a Lucky's Day Off.
I mean of course the book was largely about Lucky finding the spark in her life that was lost and Jack finding a passion (etc. etc.) But I liked how it was portrayed. I found myself looking forward to how Jack was seeing things and what was going on in his head.
I felt myself squealing inwardly every now and again about the cuteness and from my own knowledge of Kpop to kind of emphasize the need of Lucky to step out and the joy of her reawakening.
That being said. 24 hour romances make me want to toss a book at a wall. Love at first sight happens, of course, but to develop such a deep and dependant relationship that you can barely survive without each other after the fact is far fetched. Getting back together after time and kilometers apart is ridiculous. The average attention span is too low and loss of interest is inevitably going to happen. People get busy. New people come in your life. You don't get so hung up on a person you spent a day with that you give up on everyone else since that's the only person for you.
But...
It's cute to imagine. And cringey. And makes you want to hug a stuffed animal like in all those romcoms.
Conflicting emotions.

Fun. Light read. Takes no time at all and good writing. Definitely enjoyable and recommended

A cute, fun romp of a story! I know nothing about K-Pop so it was interesting to read about it from the perspective of one of it's stars. Lucky and Jack were cute as could be, but at times I felt like the story was just a tad trite.

oH MY THIS WAS EXCELLENT I'M SCREAMING

3.5 stars.

As someone who don't care *at all* about K Pop, I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy this one. And while it certainly didn't consume the entire story, I DO think I would have liked it more if I cared more about it. It just wasn't think I clicked with. But, as always, Maurene Goo still wrote a cute story with fun characters.
