I fully believe the reason I can't get into dystopian novels as a genre is because my first ones was this series and literally nothing has ever or will ever compare SUZANNE COLLINS I LOVE YOU!!!

There are only two (2) perfect fictional men who gave me INSANELY high and unrealistic standards no one will ever be able to live up to but for which I will settle for nothing less and Peeta Mellark is absolutely one of them. (The other is Percy Jackson, ofc.)

This is a truly wonderful book with great story telling and world building. This book is so much better than the film (which I was slightly disappointed with) and is worth a read.

First of all Katniss is such a strong character, she is very clever and thinks like a survivor. She is also a very harsh and detatched character due to her growing up too fast. she is a nice contrast to peeta who is a nice thoughtful person.

The world of the districts, the capital and the arena is breath taking. you can truly picture it all for yourself.

I loved this series.

Hmm, not sure what I expected and it was definitely out of my normal choice of reading material but all in all, an interesting read. For me, the visual imagery of the whole Hunger Games and characters involved will definitely get me to the movies when it comes out just to see how the scenes are portrayed. I had the same feeling when I read the first Harry Potter book and loved all the visuals in the movie.

After recently watching all the movies I decided to finally read the books and I’m so glad I did. While a bit was left out I am so glad that most of it stayed true to the books. Had I not read this book I would have never known Peta is supposed to have lost his leg(which I now wish they kept in there)

So many things bother me about this book and I would be very wary of young-young adults reading it but would definitely make for some interesting conversations with your teen. As a stand alone I love to book! Couldn't put it down even though I'd seen the movie.
