I’ve been wanting to read SoC for a long time, and it did not disappoint. I get the hype now. Immersive world building, complex diverse characters and a twist filled plot.

It took me at least 100 pages to get into the plot and characters but once I did, I finished the book in one sitting. The character dynamic was nice, the worldbuilding interesting and complex, which made things complicated at first.

Usually I don’t like books that switch perspectives too often, but I think it worked quite well with the storyline this time. The sense of humor of some characters was really pleasant and made me smile every now and then (Jesper my beloved).
I think I would have devoured this book even more if I had been younger but I can’t wait to read the next chapter!

And when you arrive with your repeating rifles and your tanks, when you set upon children and helpless villages, should we not use the weapons we possess?

I want to start out by saying that I don't usually read fantasy but I actually liked this one??
This book grabbed me until the end, the plot was pretty interesting, the characters were relatable (even though sometimes they didn't sound like they were in their teens), also I love love love the found family trope.
Obviously I liked some characters more than others, but all have of the crew holds a special place in my heart. Can you tell that I got emotional attached to them? 😌

This book was very hyped and I have to say I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the writing style and there was plenty of quotable lines. The concept was so fun and although it took me a little bit to get into the world, once I was it was beautiful. Unfortunately, I felt like I couldn’t really care/connect to each character deeply but I think that’s because there was just always so much going on and so many pov’s. Don't get me wrong, I very much like the characters (their banter was so fun) I just hope the next book will help solidify that a bit more.
