The plot of Razorblade Tears is propulsive enough, a familiar story about bad men raging against the world until they find something that passes for redemption in a society where justice and morality are luxuries reserved for the powerful. But S.A. Cosby elevates this pulpy Southern noir with prose that brings the atmosphere and culture of rural Virginia to restless life. There's poetry here, but it tastes like grit and flashes like the blades of knives.

Another uncomfortable wonderful plot driven tale full of regrets, grime, wonderful analogies, and missed opportunities. Cosby is really a great author.
