This was really cute! And I really appreciated the amount of history that was seamlessly weaved through the story. I could have gotten a longer story but ultimately I am really happy to have read this.

Stage Dreams is a gorgeous and engaging queer western graphic novel that should be added to every queer reader's collection. With a slow-burn sapphic romance between a trans and POC character that are crossing the desert on horse back to complete a heist, all packed into about 100 pages- why would you not add this to your overflowing TBR?

Be prepared to get sucked into a world of southern belles and stage coaches, that is woven with true-to-life queer history. The art and colour scheme perfectly reflects this setting. It is a great way to delve into parts of American history you may not have considered before. It is also just a damn good and enjoyable story that deserves the recognition and reader love.

i wish this had been a little bit longer to flesh out the characters and their relationship more, but overall it's a sweet comic and I really appreciate getting to once again see Gillman's soft coloring and loving depiction of trans women

2.5, I needed a little more plot!! I love Melanie Gillman’s work nonetheless.
