Why do I always find the Stockholm syndrome books. I don’t like it 🤣

Least favorite. Who is mave suppose to be? I don’t like her never have. It’s giving I needed to kill the evil guy so lemme use the most annoying sister.

hmmm. my feelings about this one are complicated. it was a great story, fairly fast paced with many scene changes. but so far it has been my least favorite, simply because I didn't really care for Maeve's personality. She actually is a whole lot like how I thought when I was a teenager - kinda entitled and vengeful. But as an adult I dislike those attributes about my earlier self and strive to not be like that, so that is why I didn't care for her character. I also disagreed with some of her decisions, like hiding from Rosalie what had happened to her. I dunno, she's a complicated girl and it is a complicated story.

I have enjoyed this series, and the authors writing. She does such a good job of putting a fun twist on fairytales. This was my favorite of the series so far! Maeve had to overcome so many different obstacles in her life and she fought hard to break her chains. I also really enjoy a redemptive story line and this one includes one that is tied to the other books and it made me so happy! Looking forward to the next one.
fast-paced

I really loved this one! Always love a good morally grey MMC/Villains aren’t really villains and they get an HEA. At first I was like there is no way Aspen is the MMC with Maeve’s FMC. Didn’t know how that would work. But it did and I loved it.

I really enjoyed Maeve although she felt a little less Maeve like in this book but she was taken and forced to become an acolyte so I’ll cut her some slack. She just was a lot of talk not much action this book.

I also liked the enemies to lovers plot in this book. I was just like are we really going to try to get Maeve with Aspen but I liked how it was done. You could see that Aspen was struggling with his decision to follow Allemar but he felt defeated in being able to break free of him. He did his best to help Maeve but couldn’t find a way out of it for her. I did want more training because it felt like we didn’t see much and Allemar was all “Aspen train Maeve for me”.

That was the other surprising thing, we didn’t overly see Allemar. He was always off doing stuff and leaving his lackeys behind.
And do we believe he’s actually dead? Like what are the rest of the books going to be about?

We got to see a fair bit of Rosalie this book. I loved her daughter Violet, the little wolf pup. Her and Maeve’s relationship was sweet.
