In my third read of this book, and the first in about three years, I’ve mostly been able to narrow down why I dislike Alton’s POV so much in this book. I’ve never really liked his POV, but I think that his character is much to bland and predictable. Even his issues are predictable, and there’s nothing compelling about him to me. 

Also, the timeline seems a bit wonky between the 2nd and 3rd book.
