Trigger warnings: sex and nudity, alcohol mention, parents with terminal illness mention, age gap and grooming relationship mention, slut shaming and bullying, workplace misogyny and sexism, eating disorder and dieting, fainting, hospitals.

*The age gap relationship is one mentioned off page where the ex is 10-15 years older than the younger partner who was 19 at the time of the relationship. Gaslighting and patronizing tactics are used on page during an "in retrospect" conversation*

Im back to edit this review because I stg I think I was possessed. I do not recall ever thinking this book was good. The main characters are mediocre and bland. The smut is fade to black (no on page orgasm that I remember and therefore for what it’s worth it’s fwde to black). Aaron is annoying and flip floppy and Lina was so annoying and boring.

As a debut, this was a great start and I’m sure the author is going to write more books that hit the ball out of the park. For a beginner romance this is fine. For me personally this is just so far below my benchmark for mediocre. It’s a solid two stars mayyybeee a three if I felt generous. Idk what possessed me to give it four in the first place.

For a more generous opinion here’s my first blacked out/possessed review:

It starts out a bit slow but I felt like that exposition was necessary to understand the enemies to lovers dynamic was going to have. Lina and Aaron have such incredible chemistry from the beginning that I found myself screaming at them to KISS ALREADY from like two chapters in. Lina is such an incredible main character. Her history and struggles in the workplace are really relatable and it fed into her relationship troubles as well which helped make her character development incredibly complex and heartwarming. Aaron's also such a squishy love interest. He's written out as this brooding hunky man, which yes he is, but all his tender gestures towards Lina clearly show that he's the softest person ever and I loved that about him. The fake dating, enemies to lovers, and there's only one bed tropes were so well done together. Loved it!!!
