i certainly didn’t know i’d be hit with all the emotions while reading this book, and oh boy i was put through the wringer.

juliet and luke were two characters with obvious attraction for one another, but couldn’t act on those feelings. it was a struggle doing the right thing knowing they had undeniable chemistry and a connection that was unmatched. though they tried, really tried they just couldn’t deny how they felt. when juliet finally let herself want luke and be happy without feeling guilty that’s when she truly began to live the life she always wanted. juliet and luke were each other’s missing piece and they were exactly what the other needed.

the summer we fell was an emotionally charged angst filled romance. this was an amazing start to the summer series and i can’t wait to continue with the other books.

5 stars because I couldn’t get enough, it’s so angsty and the mysterious way you don’t know what happened until the end. I ate this.

Holy moly the way I devoured this book in less than a day. I really enjoyed getting the past and present chapters and trying to piece together what was going on even as it was all getting laid out. I thought it was so interesting to be in Juliet's head space, where she's battling between wanting something for herself but also not disappointing those around and living up to others' standards. It's heavy burden for her and I thought the whole journey of her coming into a better place was well done. Plenty of angst and pining and the chemistry between Juliet and Luke - I was living for all of their interactions. He was such a protector for her, and she was for him in her own way, and I was swooning over all of it.
