Love this series and working my way through it. I am listening to the audio series and the narrator does a great job!

By far my favourite novel in the series so far.  Great character development. Excellent locked room mystery.  Such a joy of a novel.

Good fun book in line with the TV series and the previous books. From my point of view it was not as good as the previous two books but not too different to take a star of the rating.
It's an interesting murder case while Richard struggles with an existential crisis. That crisis and the way it was written for me were part of what made this book less than the previous two books.

Lucy Beaumont runs into the police station at Saint Marie, gasping that an elderly tramp has been stalking her. When Detective Inspector Poole and his colleague, Camille, return with Lucy to the Beaumont plantation, they discover that the man has been murdered. Every member of the Beaumont family seems to be hiding a secret that has a bearing on the murder of this mysterious stranger. The curmudgeonly DI Poole is as endearing/aggravating in his inflexibility as ever and the twist at the end was quite unexpected (to me).
