I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this book and I’m glad I went into it pretty blind. But I loved it and it was a quick read, but very sweet and touching without being cliché or formulaic in anyway. A truly lovely read.

This was too contemporary for me. But I have friends who loved it so it’s probably a great book just not for me.

I loved, loved, loved this book. It reminded me a lot of Unlikely animals, which I also really enjoyed.

A charming story set in a small coastal town about a wise but sneaky octopus in captivity, a little old lady who does custodial labour to distract from the unexpected death of her son, and a 30-year-old manchild looking for a long lost father.

An easy and heartwarming beach read. Surprisingly complex characters for such a short book. Author did a great job on making Cameron/the manchild an insufferable piece of shit.
