Proper slasher, satisfying ending. Very impressed with the body horror here. Nothing too deep or dark, overall a fun read.

Simply put, this book rips. I’m a slow reader, and I cleared it in 2 hours. The narrators voice moves the story along at such a pace that I hear could loud exhaust bellowing through crisp autumn air, while ultra violent starving war boys screamed through the town on their ritual. This book surprised me at every turn, and I don’t think I took a single break. I wish I could read it again for the first time.

Pretty cool, kind of tough to suspend disbelief however. Good and violent. Great creature. The prose was a bit bloated at times, reminded me of that The Simpsons segment where this dude's holding a grenade and starts rhyming off names until he's said so many the grenade blows in his hand. Also, I would guess this one has inspired at least two other books I've read that I was lukewarm on.
