I really enjoyed this book. The only negative I would say is that everything was to quick and just about every scene I wanted to be longer and just more. That is nothing against the author. I am not a great fan of novellas or short stories, so I always want a book to be longer. This was a very good quick read.

amo el concepto, la ejecucion dejo un poquito mas que desear

entre la peli y el libro siento que i like cosas diferentes de ambos so no siento que uno sea mejor que el otro necesariamente🥴

Kinda forced myself to read this go fulfill the Reading Glasses challenge 2024 to read a book that takes place during a holiday on that holiday. I read a lot of horror, but trying to find an audiobook for something specifically set on Halloween and coordinating a library hold was tricky.

Ultimately, I can see why this novella is award winning because it’s well written and interesting. Unfortunately, it has a VERY pronounced and stylistic way of writing that just personally wasn’t to my taste. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters and if I wasn’t reading it for a challenge, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up.

But rating is tricky because it is legitimately good. It’s just not to my personal taste. Recommended for people who like more boys-on-bikes, leather jacket literary writing where it feels like the narrator is leaning over you in a doorway.
