This was my first read by this author and I am not disappointed. The story reads quickly and flows easily. It has all of my favorite things: serial killers, "touch her and ☠️," strong willed female main, obsession, and rich, broody men.

Mara grabs you from the start - she is a starving artist and trying to make ends meet. Living with a group of other starving artists and working 3 extra jobs, she doesn't have much time for anything else. Her studio space is in jeopardy and her room in her home with friends is cramped and tiny. She's desperate for a break, but ends up in way more trouble than she ever thought possible. But she's a fighter.

I feel like I should not like Cole. He's every red flag and more. However, that's EXACTLY why I like him. He's talented, hot, possessive, and unhinged. His eyes are set on Mara. He tries to get Mara on his side, protective of her. That just sends them both down a path they are not sure they want to be on.

The book ends on a great cliffhanger. It was great.

I think this is the first "dark romance" type book that I've enjoyed.

I liked the artistic description in this book - the intensity of Mara working on her pieces. I loved her strong will. I can't stand when the FMC finally gets the man and instantly becomes a watered down version of herself. I don't think this happened to Mara at all. I think she really stepped into herself as the story progressed. She didn't feel weaker at the end.

The serial killer aspect was cool and fun to work with. I would like to know more about Cole and Shaw's kills. I want their methodology. I know Cole must be cold and calculating, insane attention to detail. I want to know his process, his justification.

I'm interested to see where this story goes in the second one.

Too dark and honestly crazy. There were no TW in the beginning of the book so it was just jarring and the characters were obviously not lovable. It was ridiculous that I only got a third of the book through all seem too much lmao

Cole is a billionaire, serial killer with an immense artistic talent that is constantly in charge of his emotions. That changes when he meets Mara and completely loses control. He needs to know what she’s doing 24/7 and just can’t seem to hurt her.

Even though I enjoy reading dark romances I dislike stalker romance so I know I’m not the main audience for this book. But still I finished in one day and an enjoyed the characters, they had really good chemistry.
