I really liked the story just wished there was more connection to overall story. But also felt the ghost story added in there didnt have too much of a point to the story.

I loved Fiona! I enjoyed how she didn’t allow anyone or anything to stop her. Loved her determination and her way to juggle so many different things in her life. I also enjoyed the girlhood that we saw throughout the book. Thought it was going to be more of a thriller but it was just an interesting story with some paranormal elements.

- I might be biased but I love St. James’s books. They’re the perfect balance of creepy and heartwarming. This one in particular highlighted not taking things at face value, asking the hard questions, not giving up when it seems terrifying and impossible, female friendships and found family that will do anything for each other, even if it takes decades to accomplish.
- I also think her books are great for the start of Fall/spooky season. They’re creepy and make the reader feel nervous and uneasy, but they’re not SCARY-scary. So I think they’re great books to ease into the more horror-heavy novels that I read as I get closer to October.
