5 plus star read for me, the broken girls by Simone st James  was my first book by this author. The 2014 main characters are Jamie and Fiona. He’s a cop and she’s a journalist
but in this thriller their feeling for each other are obvious. Fiona’s family has struggled with lost, while Jaime wanted to be like who he thought he father was when he was little. Secrets, twists and cases are the focus of this thriller. Specifically three cases from three different time frames, 1907ish, 1950 then 1994.  Simone St. James writes an exceptional character driven narrative. To find out the twists and how it all reaches a conclusion one must pick up the book. I highly recommend The Broken girls by Simone St. James.

Wow, just wow. Not my usual preference but it was a great book! Kept me guessing and tied things up- I hate stories that end horribly or end on cliffhangers leaving the reader to imagine the ending- this was not that at all and loved that!

My first book by Simone St James and I was not dissapointed!
This book has two timelines: 1950 Idlewild Hall girls school and the mysterious things that happen surrounding 4 friends and the dissapearance that changes them. And the same town in 2014 where reporter Fiona Sheridan, after hearing of the recent renovation to the forgotten school; starts investigating and finds more questions than answers.

The two different crimes and timelines in this story work so well together! I like the small but significant things mentioned that bring more intrique to the story, but they didn't take over as a main point.

Awesome ending!!

This book was great! It kept me guessing until the very end and had the perfect sprinkling of paranormal.
