Another hilarious collection of stories about David Sedaris' life.
This book was so funny, though a bit outdated. My favorite was the colonoscopy story, which is weird of me, but I think it was the funniest. Other than one of the stories at the end for students to read, because of how the son got his terrible mother to dress.

Narrator Rating: 3.5
The author did an okay job reading it, though his voice is kind of odd you get used to it.

The racism is wild... I couldn't keep listening to the mixture of cruelty and white saviour complex in this at all. Not funny, just awful.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a David Sedaris book through. I can’t remember if I read this one before or just a couple of the stories that ran in like The New Yorker previously. Anyway, basically what I expect from him now - some really charming and funny stories, some misanthropy that goes beyond tolerable, and enough cultural insensitivity to make me squirm. This one also includes some strictly-fiction short stories and I really hate his fiction. I think they reveal a casual disdain for people that’s only hinted at in his essays. So, whatever.
