Really liked the writing style and, while the twist was somewhat predictable, there were still parts I didn’t expect. The story felt cohesive and the tense moments really roped you in.

This book started off really good but then it lost me with about a quarter of the book left. The ending felt too rushed for me, very forced.

I really like the weird, spooky worlds that both of this author’s books have created! It’s a gothic sort of horror (and somehow I always end up reading about changelings or fae), and the writing style, wording, gorgeous language, really lend themselves to building this sense of wrongnes!

The plot twist was very good, even if it could have been predicted I still felt like it fit the story. Sutherland really knows how to create unique groups of characters where each is their own person. Easy to read as well, will definitely reread and annotate fully later!!!

I’m sure a lot of parents are convinced their children are demons too.

A book on the whole skin suit concept would be very cool though, hope she explores more of these themes In future novels
