After reading Maya Banks' KGI series, I'd been searching for similar series and thought I'd be disappointed until I stumbled on Pamela Clare's 'Breaking Point'. Oh god, the read was amazing! Excited to read rest of the series, and fingers crossed, hopefully they're just as amazing!

Fifth installment of the I-Team series. It made me want to find a guy, maybe guys, as handsome, athletic and brave as the guys in this series are.

Zach McBride, Chief deputy US Marshal, was taken by the cartel group he was trying to bust in false accusation that he was the one who stole the cocaine when it was Interpol agent Gisella who did.
Natalie Benoit, cop beat reporter of the elite I-Team of Denver Independent, was sent to Mexico with Joaquin Marquez, photojournalist, for a seminar but instead kidnapped by the same cartel group. Together, they escaped and back in Denver, they weaved the missing link between the cartel group and Benoit's investigative report while stuck in a high-end security penthouse.

It was a story of loss and struggle by two people who were so unlike yet so similar in their own ways. They tried to fight the happiness and love they thought they didn't deserve through their survivor's guilt, but it the end, they realized they had fallen already into deep.

It was heartbreaking, but it was thrilling and sexy at the same time. Clare had once more awed me with her writing skills.

Loved the male protagonist Zach and Natalie wasn't too shabby. I was not prepared for three sex scenes in a row, but I guess with all the sexual tension that was built up, it should have been expected. I enjoyed this sex book more than I did others. The story was interesting and it did reel me in.

trigger warning: shirtless man on cover

all i have to say is this author writes suspense so well. not for the faint of heart tho cuz this girl goes thru hell and back but she’s so cool and i enjoyed it! just ignore the cover. i swear it’s actually an interesting if not traumatizing read. 2024 the year of the guilty pleasure

awesome addition to the i-team though i'm a little surprised with Natalie's choice in the end... looking forward to the next in the series for sure.

This book was so good! This was the first book I read by Pamela Clare and I am soooo glad I did. I have since went back and read all the I-team books.
This one is by far my fave. The hero in this book is so deliciously yummy! Read it and you will totally enjoy it.

I got serious ick so many times with this book. Statements like “that’s a hell-to-the-yeah” and “I tried that therapy shit” and being literally healed by the power of good sex…it was a lot.
If you want a really convoluted book, and extreme drama with sex scenes that are pretty over the top, this book is for you.

5 stars.

I love, love, love, love, love...did I mention I love this book.

I could not get enough of Zach and Natalie. Wonderful together, wonderful apart. I just cannot get enough of this world, of this author, and I can hardly wait for the next I-Team novel.

Reread Nov 2018:

Listened to this on audio this time around. The narrator is fantastic (I've also listened to the first 4 on audio book this year) I really enjoy his narration.

This is still my favorite of the I-Team series. When I originally got it, it was a cover buy, totally and completely a cover buy (at that time I had only read 1 Pamela Clare book a few years before), saw the lickable abs and it "magically" jumped into my cart. Thankfully the inside was just as amazing as the cover.

Zach is still wonderful, Natalie is still wonderful. I love rereading this book (and this series) and I'm glad I'm doing it on audio.
