The Broken Vows

Trust this author to write a book with so many twists and turns as to give us whiplash! Zane’s and Celeste’s story is full of back and forth hate and love episodes, starting from when they were school kids and Zane used to bully her. Under all that hate was love, of course, but the scars were hard to get rid of. During the course of this book, they did a lot of harm to each other, and underneath all that war of revenge, was a very strong and passionate love. Trust and jealousy work hand in hand to make this a very angsty and riveting story.

I was mostly angry at Celeste, she trusted in the words of others and didn’t listen to her instincts, thus causing a lot of harm and then suffering with the consequences. I felt for Zane who repented from his bullying years but didn’t get the redemption he needed. I loved all the family around them, with their banter, poker days, high fashion dressing, family dinners. There were lost friendships, reconciliations, bad grandparenting, and financial high stakes warfare. As with all books by this author, it was very satisfyingly angsty!

I adore this series but this is easily my least favorite. Miscommunication galore and I hate it but Zane is incredible and makes up for it in his devotion

February was the month where I read the first 4 books in this series and each one was 5⭐️’s!

The Broken Vows was such an emotional and beautiful story. Celeste and Zane! What a journey it was for them to finally get to their HEA.

6 STARS TIERED BOOK, HANDS DOWN

I love this book so ferociously. Despite not getting much of Zane in the previous books, I wasn't surprised to love him the way I did. By the time I was halfway into the book, my heart was beating for that man. ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIM.

The only thing, is that, it is one of those books that makes you question if you should love it as much as you do because it's so close to the actual reality, you would be psychotic to. It's problematic like that. I can see the story happening in real life but not the love story part of it.

I'm oddly conflicted nonetheless and that's what took me so long to write the review but I wrote it because my feelings hadn't changed meanwhile.

Also, THE PLOT TWISTS?! WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCKITY-FUCK, CATHARINA??!! Loved them all!!!!!!!!!!

It's kind of like Final Offer by Lauren Asher. It reminded me of that at certain points but it's different. The storyline. Tropes are similar sometimes.
