This is a wonderful series. Highly recommended for those who love fantasy, science fiction, & those who loved Harry Potter and looking for another series about friends attending a Magical Academy...

Great story, great series, great book. I love Daja’s arc and learning more about the traders. The audiobooks are also a treat with full voice acting.

Another solid book in the series

This series continues to blow me away. Pierce writes about children with an adult's maturity. Like... the writing is mature. Not the kids. The kids have been forced to grow up too fast yet their perspectives are still masterfully childlike. But Pierce does not patronize them with the narrative voice. I love this book. Daja's story and arc are incredible.

Another excellent story. Pierce does something that I fell like few YA or MG authors do - she has characters that are all shapes, sizes, and colors. Fat, thin, white, black, Asian... etc. It was nice to see a young black girl as the protagonist.
