this book was beautifully written (and beautifully translated) and I loved trying to decode the Ancient Greek (as a Greek native with very limited knowledge of our ancestral language), but I just did not connect with it. I can’t really put into words what was missing for me, just that something was missing, and it kept me from fully understanding and caring for the characters and their struggles. it’s a shame, because the premise is one of the most interesting deconstructions of language I’ve ever heard of before…
