Awesome much?!

Re read 2023 3***

So I still enjoyed this. I remember absolutely loving this the first time I read this but I was also really young then. I've read a lot of fantasy since then and I'm no longer the target age range.
It was very YA, there's actually a lot going on right away. Typical teenage characters, everyone is sex obsessed. I'm looking forward to reading the next book and seeing if I still enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate this I just don't love it like I did then. Back then this was AH-MAZING and I don't think it's amazing anymore but still pretty good.

“You will kill the ones you love. It is in your blood, in your fate. So the gods have spoken it and so the gods have come to foresee it.”
Loved this book! We have so many different classes, the Pures, Half-bloods, Daimons, Apollyons. Our main character is Alex, a Half-blood. After her mom is killed, she ends up at the Covenant again. Half-bloods don't really have a lot of options. They can become Sentinels to hunt Daimons or lose their free will and become servants in the homes of Pures. As any reasonable person, Alex does not want to lose her free will. Aiden sees Alex's potential and convinces her uncle Marcus, the current Dean of the Covenant, to let him train her during the summer break. Our grieving Alex is still young and acts like a typical teenager. She has a hard time following orders, doesn't take things seriously, and overestimates her own ability. But as the story matures, so does she.

We all know what it means to have different classes... forbidden romance! Of course Alex is attracted to Aiden, a Pure. But it gets more interesting when Seth, the Apollyon, gets introduced.
Another lovely character is Caleb. He is a very loyal friend to Alex. We all need a friend like him!
