My pick for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Book. I’ll be sending this to others after, but I’m excited for everyone to read it and see what they felt, hear about their favorite poem. This book made me tear up, chuckle and cry. I’ve read it 2.5x. I love Victoria Hutchins and my favorite poem will be known only to the readers of this copy, I can’t wait!

Dang!!! I told my hubby these were hard to read. When he asked why all I could say was that they hit hard on an emotional level. So beautifully written. It is as if Victoria was reading a majority of my own personal thoughts. Loved it.

I was lucky enough to win a copy of this collection through goodreads and found it poignant and beautiful. “You used to ask why”, “sugarcoat”, “unbiting the apple”, “let her eat cake” and “airborne” are ones I connected to as a woman in my 30s, but there is a poem for everyone here. I enjoyed the mix of poetical and conversational style, and the use of blank verse works well here. These poems are ones I come back to on a hard day, the affirmations used as needed.
