i remember in elementary school we watched a stop-motion short film based on this that someone from our school has made and it scared the shit out of me
I was enjoying this one but like with most short stories, the ending fell flat or just was underwhelming. Perhaps, that's not a word against Pushkin but more in accordance to my own expectations with short stories.
I had initially started in all the wrong places with Russian literature, especially given the fact that I was transitioning from British classics (which is miles apart in difference). I really want to warm up to Russian classics and this gave me glimmer of hope in the beginning :(
