Wow, such an amazing short story!
I have a feeling that Russian literature, however small in size and scope ,can never disappoint me.
Great stuff!

A lovely quick read with focus on greed and giving a good moral to the entire storry.

My first Pushkin and it didn’t disappoint. I can see how Dostoyevsky was inspired by him. As the founder of modern Russian literature I thought it essential I sample his talent and I can happily say the story was wonderful from start to finish.

A funny, and gratifying tale about a greedy opportunist trying to take advantage of those around him but getting his comeuppance. An exemplary short story.
