Sometimes I struggle with perfectionism in myself and for my future, but we weren’t made to be perfect. We were made to love. More important than being perfect is that we’re perfectly loved by our Father in Heaven. This book is an amazing tool in navigating the different expectations we place on ourselves and others. I especially liked the bit on leadership. We are free. We are not bound by worldly expectations. Our God is the God of amazing grace and steadfast love that endures forever. I am absolutely going to need to reread this book again and again.

“Ironically, we stunt our spiritual growth when we’re focused on making ourselves perfect.” - Gerth, Holley. “You're Loved No Matter What.”

This book has really changed the way I look at life and some of my own habits. It is really worth reading. It is one of those books that really touches your heart. ❤️

My best friend gave this to me as an Easter. She liked it so much that she thought needed a copy. I glad she did because I loved it. Very helpful and inspirational.

"You're Loved No Matter What" is a concept that was hard for me to accept. For many years I did not consider myself a perfectionist. I prefer a comfortable home, as opposed to a well organized home. I prefer nice clothes on my family, which may include hand-me-downs. So, again, I did not see myself as a perfectionist. However, I am learning perfectionism may be subtle and may be present inside us, without obvious outward signs.
Author Holley Gerth begins her book with a quiz. I placed an "x" by each description, in agreement with each one. So, I decided, I am probably a "Perfect Perfectionist". I am thankful that is not the end, but only the beginning of that which I can learn.
The tagline for Holley's book reads, "Freeing Your Heart from the Need To Be Perfect". You will find several thoughts throughout the book to help you escape perfectionism. Some of the chapters focus on; Why you don't have to be perfect, Freedom is yours, and God loves you more than you know.
In this book, the reader will follow the author as she shares her life as her regular self. She shares how she had learned to hold in her true emotions and perform in an acceptable manner. But, Holley also shares how we can gain a new perspective.
I have read a few of the authors books: "You're Already Amazing", "You're Made for a God-Sized Dream", and "You're Going to be Okay". Although I like all these books I've read, I would recommend reading "You're Loved No Matter What" first.
This non-fiction work emphasizes understanding that we can never make ourselves perfect. Although being perfect is a requirement to stand in the presence of our Holy God, we need not worry because we are made perfect through Christ. As Holley says, "When Jesus died on the cross, He took the punishment we deserve on Himself and resolved our sin issue once and for all." *(pg. 22) "When we believe in Jesus as our Savior, we receive Salvation and a new identity." *(pg. 22) No one can ever take our Salvation away from us. We can never lose our Salvation. It's a done deal!
This is a book I will be prudent to reference again and again. I recommend this book to all women of various ages, to read.

Disclaimer: I received this book free from Revell Reads in exchange for my honest review.

This book has a wonderful message. I admit I stopped reading it halfway through because it started to feel redundant, but I think that was less to do with this book and more to do with the fact that I've read several similar books. (4/7/15)

I received an ARC from NetGalley! (3/20/15)

Words cannot begin to describe how timely and influential this book has been. It is one I will need to reread constantly because this book is my life. For anyone who struggles with unconditional love, the unrealistic standards they have on them placed by themselves or others, or the constant struggle with legalism and grace, READ THIS BOOK. My heart is finding freedom it has LONGED for forever.

I have never read a Holley Gerth book before this. I would have no issues reading a book by here again. Nicely written book that speaks to the heart of women.

It is SO easy to push ourselves you know? To do this right, to that thing over there that needs doing, to just be busy doing and working and being what we think is expected of us.

The Chapters are:

Why you really don't have to be perfect
Embracing the freedom that's already yours
Trading guilt for Grace
What your heart really needs is perfect love
The God who loves you more than you know
Daring to be who you already are
Finding healing in your relationship
A practical plan for beating perfectism
A new perspective that will change your life
The perfect place you're heading one day
Freeing your heart forever.

We get so busy you know, with the stuff of life that sometimes we forget what is truly important, the heart within us, the heart that God wants seeking after him and being content with who he has made us and called us to be.

Holley calls us back to remember that, to remember the heart of who we are so we can truly live as we should. Throughout the chapters questions are asked, and lines provided for answers, in order to help you think through the questions and thoughts presented. It's good to ponder these things eh? :)

Chapter questions are given at the close of the book. I have to admit that these questions didn't resonate with me, the questions within the individual chapters did. Causing me to ponder and seek after God more.
