The only reasons I didn’t give this book a higher rating is because I didn’t like that it added in a bunch of other characters POV, it was confusing.
I also just thought this was way to unbelievable to be honest. They wouldn’t get away with that and there was too much rape in it for my liking.
I loved the other two and will continue with the series, just wasn’t the biggest fan of this one, unfortunately.

I did not expect to like "Devious Obsession" as much as I did, but it turned out to be an absolute page-turner. Having read other works by S. Massery, I already loved their writing style, but I was unsure what to expect from this dark, intense trope. Not many authors can navigate this kind of story well, but Massery excels in delivering a gripping and unforgettable tale.

The story revolves around Steele O’Brien, a cocky, brooding, and antagonistic hockey player who becomes the protagonist’s new stepbrother. The dynamic between Steele and the protagonist is electric and filled with tension. Steele's determination to torment and dominate makes for a compelling read, with layers of emotional and psychological depth that keep you hooked.

Despite the heavy themes, the book is well-written and addictive. The dark and brooding atmosphere is balanced with moments of vulnerability and raw emotion, making it a well-rounded read. If you’re looking for a dark, captivating romance that pushes boundaries, this book is a must-read.
