I pick this book up because it was nominated for a Nebula Award. And the other novellas that were nominated at the same time I tended to like. However this one, to me, was very dry.

It's not for me but I could see myself suggest my friends borrow it from the library.

Lana being horny on main the whole time started off funny and charming but easily got annoying. And about half way through I felt like I lost the plot and lost all interest. I mostly was finishing it because it was so short.

I did like how it ended though.
Poly couple for the win.

A slow-burn novella created against the backdrop of a delightful European fantasy realm. Politics can lead to everyone’s downfall but even the smallest most stolen kisses may save everyone.

I love the read as a casual light read but would love more insight as to how the Low Parliament came to be. Perhaps a prequel speaking of the first contact between Faerie and the Anglish.
Perhaps the Low Parliament is connected to each country via the magic road. Perhaps the flooding would affect all of Europe instead of just the Parliament. Perhaps there are magical machinations that even the Faeries have no idea of.Perhaps Lana learns more secrets or plots by wandering the halls. Or starts a revolution/shadow parliament among the pages, scribes, cooks, and librarians. Or sides with the faeries?
Ultimately a great read but the world keeps me hungering for that little something more.
