I would give this a 3.5. I like the main character and the book certainly keeps you reading to find out who did it. I don't usually read books where they discuss in detail the murder/rape scene and it was referred to more than once in this book. I am going to read the second one to see if that will continue or if it was just the first book. There are 17 current books in the series.

Nice, "light" read. Unfortunately, I knew who the killer was about halfway thru the book.

Just a fun ride. I greatly enjoyed Sebastian, as a whip smart devilish rogue of a noble with a heart of gold. I loved Kat as her own character but also the way they play off each other. I do hope we see more of Tom as well. The mystery was pretty decent as well, with exciting action bits and chases and fights.

I just really had a lot of fun with this.

I read this because a friend recommended it, one of their favorites. I am not a huge mystery fan but I was hooked on this one.

Just to note:

*Trigger Warning* it talks of some gruesome details of the murder and of unpleasant tendencies that men like to partake in. It can be very difficult for those sensitive to read and they may want to steer clear.

However, apart from that (which does go along with the story, even for the weight of how bad people can be) it was intriguing. I was constantly guessing at who the murder was and changing it many times. I adore Sebastian and will probably continue to follow his series.

Really good book. Great plot and good characters. Looking forward to more of these.

This book had good atmosphere of winter London around 1800, the mystery was interesting but I didn't particularly care for any character except the one that was killed in the very beginning, so for me there is really no reason to read another book in the series.

A fantastic novel of murder and intrigue. Filled with so many twists and turns that you never knew where you were going to end up or which mysterious character you'd meet up with next.

What Angels Fear had everything that should be expected in a historical mystery: chases, sword fighting, disguises and of course, murder.

Every suspect seemed to have something to hide and I was completely off in my conclusion. I did not see the end coming and the murderer was totally unexpected.

With a host of off-beat characters and a backdrop set in the beginning of the Regency, this looks to be a good start in what I hope is a great series of mystery novels.
