Cleopatra was a fascinating woman and I loved learning more about her, but this book was a slog to get through.

GREAT biography with amazing writing. It says a lot about a non-fiction book that you find difficult to put down. Stacy Schiff examines all the propaganda and hoopla surrounding Cleopatra from the past 2,000+ years to get the most accurate picture possible...which is still absolutely fascinating.

Barely got started and realized that i wouldn’t like this. After only 35 pages there had been many references on how not much has been documented about her life. I’d rather just read a paragraph online about her life instead of 300 pages of speculation and limited facts on her.

I didn’t know anything about cleopatra except she slept with Caesar and Mark Anthony. But now I know a lot more!

The author did a good job of trying to give a fair representation of Cleopatra, she discusses the shortcomings and possible biases of her sources, which is a mark of a good historian.

A little hard to follow and dry. But as it has been pointed out, this is non-fiction
