I'm going to score this highly like the others as I believe Foster did well with this story under exaction of the studio.

From what I've read Foster, like David Fincher, were aggrieved at being told what to do very firmly rather than being allowed to let their creative input be as advantageously put to good use as it could have been.

I think this story, whilst shorter than the previous two, had a good sense of urgency to it. The cast of characters were well written and married up nicely with their on screen counterparts (the only change I would make to the film would be to have re-cast Charles S. Dutton with Kai Greene - not that Dutton isn't good in the role, he is, it just struck me hard that Kai Greene is the character of Dillon, albeit shorter, incarnate).

I will keep a look out for the fourth novel though will bear in mind that it is written by A. C. Crispin so will expect a different idiolect.

A concise, evocative novelization. Exquisitely paced, Foster captures the terror well.

Better Than The Movie

I loved this one.

Really enjoyed it.

Some truly great sequences in this one.

I think this was the best in the Alan Dean Foster series so far.
