So, yes, 17776 is about Football, but it’s more about humanity. About what we boil down to. And maybe that’s play. And maybe that’s distraction. This story gives you an immortal world, slaps you in the face with your own mortality, and nurses you with the grands joy of humanity.

If you have 2 hours to spare, please read/watch/consume this beautiful piece of media.

This is some of the best speculative fiction I’ve ever read and the multi-media format heightens the experience tenfold.

JUICE: TRUST ME DUDE WHEN I SAY IT WAS LIKE
JUICE: hey are you a dude or what
NINE: I don't know. I haven't really thought about it.
JUICE: Ok well good luck and dont feel obligated to subscribe to the gender binary etc etc so anyways there is no greater spectacle than a dumbass gettin whooped by a stick on the ground

The way this tackled the subject of the human condition and what it means to live… I’m physically feeling my perspective shift. This is why I love speculative fiction. It’s so well crafted and told through the perfect lenses to make it hit.

Onto less esoteric shit, Juice is by far my favorite although I love them all. His vibe is so quintessentially ADHD in nature, I adored his rambles on topics he loves. Also for the love of God please read his dialogue with a French accent, it elevates the whole thing!!

I know I’m being very vague. Who is Nine and Juice and Ten?? How were the themes discussed?? I’m not gonna say anything because all I knew was it centered around futuristic football and in the end I left a changed person. I’d love for other readers to experience it that way.

This is fantastic. I will return to it at some point in the future, and I suspect it will hit me in the face with realizations all over again.

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read in my finite life.

I learned a lot and felt a lot of things that I don't really know how to articulate. I felt like crying at multiple points and I don't know why.

Every new chapter brought a new surprise, each illustration brilliantly set the tone and atmosphere for what I was reading. I expected to only read a few more chapters today but I couldn't put it down until I reached the end.

The End...

"New York was probably just one more place with a lot of buildings. But I missed seeing it, that's a thing I lost. That's one of the only things I've ever lost. Thinking about that kind of gets me right in the heart. Like a little xylophone hammer is, you know, just hits it. ... It's a note we never play anymore."
