🔥 “Let me see how much you want me. How much you need me. Not the heat. Or my knot. Me.”
~~~
I absolutely adored Mirra! She’s not only a great friend, but also an amazing woman. And she cares deeply for her family, working two jobs to help them and save enough marks to get them off Fortuna. I loved her confidence and her sense of humor. And she’s so feisty, fun and mouthy! Even more, I loved that she can handle herself and is not ashamed to ask for the things she wants. Mirra is absolutely the best!
Lennox is the youngest billionaire in Arrismar and is helping his friend Errytt start his new business. He’s huge, growly and kinda grumpy. And he doesn’t trust easily, especially women. Even more, Lennox doesn’t believe in love, has tons of rules to protect his heart and definitely doesn’t do relationships. But deep down, there’s a hurt and lonely male inside him who needs the right woman to show him the way. I loved him so, so much!
I absolutely adored everything that happened between Mirra and Lennox. It all started with an arrangement - with Mira pretending to be his girlfriend so that he can get his father off his back. From the moment they met, their attraction was undeniable but Lennox was not willing to act upon it. But I loved the time they spent together on their “fake” dates. And I loved that Mirra was challenging him and was not afraid to stand up to him and put him in his place when needed. Very soon, the walls around Lennox’s heart slowly start to crumble from Mirra’s constant teasing and pushing. And he discovers that, for her, he’s more than willing to open up, risk it all and throw his rules out of the airlock. They had some challenges to overcome but I just adored those two together and it was all worth it in the end! And when they couldn’t keep their hands off each other anymore, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot and filled with all the naughty, bitey and knotty goodness. Well, Ximians definitely do it better!
In addition the storyline was fantastic! With everything happening on Fortuna, I was glued to the pages till the very end, curious how everything will be resolved. And I really liked Mirra’s sister. Even more, Lennox’s dad won my heart with how supportive he was of Mirra.
Overall, the story is another magnificent, fun and smoking-hot addition to the series and I absolutely loved every page of it! And I cannot wait to see what happens next!
This series always serves!
I love this series with all my heart. I did read the 3rd book first but, I circled back around and read the 1st one and then this one. I hope the author has one more in store for us because this series is a breath of fresh book air and a quick read. These books are light and can be read in a day or two depending on the reader. The FL in this story was a favorite because she held her ground broke barriers and was always willing to work for her family. I love that in a lead character ether it be the Fl or the Ml. The ML was a good read he wasn’t too possessive but he liked to stake his claim and the spicy scenes in this book were top tier as always. I would love to see some fanart come from this series because visualizing the ML’s was a challenge. Overall I love this author and this series!
Lennox, the male alien (Ximian) lead, has come to visit his friend (Errytt, the male lead from the previous book, Alien Billionaire’s Assistant - also great; I do recommend) and convince him that he really doesn’t want any mate, let alone a human one. Whilst visiting, his father calls, attempting to arrange a marriage for him and Lennox taps Mirra, the female human lead and the best friend of Cassie (the female lead from the previous story), to be his fake girlfriend, even though it means not acting on the intense and extreme attraction between them. But when his father comes to visit, the pressure increases and Lennox isn’t able to resist his own desires any more. Mirra has additional priorities to a relationship though, especially when she discovers that Lennox will have direct influence over problems that she’d like to solve.
This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and an absolutely awesome story. There’s so much I enjoyed about it. I enjoyed the interaction of secondary characters and the influence of family, both biological and chosen. I enjoyed the input from previous characters in the series. I adored Mirra’s character, especially scrappiness and determination to make real changes in her life and escape from poverty, as well as caring for her family and helping them too. I understood Lennox’s concerns about intimacy and enjoyed the significant character development he underwent. I adored the banter and the building tension between the lead characters, as well as the erotic scenes and the special extras of Ximians, explored in detail. I appreciated the negotiation both before and after intimate interactions, showing the care and consensuality of engagement. Whilst this story is second in a series and enhanced by having read the first, I believe it stands alone. (But the first one is great too; you should read it ask well ;) )
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Fun fake dating alien human romance. He is a rich billionaire looking to get his dad off his back about finding a mate, she is looking to distance herself from her past life and start fresh. They make a deal to fake date not expecting to catch feelings, even though they can't deny their attraction.
