FIRST OF ALL, this book was so astronomically traumatising that I will NEVER forget some parts of it.
SECOND OF ALL, addie needs to get her shit together and realise she's falling in love with total CREEP, who is also not to mention, her stalker.
all of this considered, did i still kind of eat it up? yes. am i little ashamed? also yes

Lot of feelings about this book. I enjoyed it, though it was definitely a difficult read considering the content. I enjoyed it strictly for what it was, though, which is a TOUGH, TRIGGERING read. Be sure to read the trigger warnings before diving in!

I knew this book romanticized stalkers going in and I was prepared for that. What I wasn't prepared for was romanticizing rape. I am tired of everyone calling it dubious consent and CNC. It isn't either of those things. This book is full of straight up graphic rape.
I am not shaming anyone who likes this book! I am just tired of this conversation around this as if this book is somehow consent. This character mentions multiple times that she would not be doing it if she wasn't forced to be. She also makes MULTIPLE police reports because she is so scared of him.
I can say I liked the book UNTIL the graphic rape in it. The MC was sassy and kinda bitchy, and I liked it.
However, I also think both characters act in ways that don't make sense to who they are. She is very bold in the beginning and isn't afraid to say what she thinks, which changes very quickly after Zade comes in. She becomes a victim of some major gaslighting.
How am I supposed to believe that Zade has a passion for sex trafficking victims, victims of abuse, and victims of childhood SA when he graphically rapes a woman through a whole book? He is one of the people he would murder!

This book. So disturbing, so so disturbing - yet intriguing. I couldn’t put it down.

Uff. Lots of trigger warnings. It's a dark romance with graphic violence, sex and disturbing acts involving children. Definitely don't recommend if you're a faint of heart kind of person. Haunting Adeline is a gut wrenching, jaw dropping thrill to read. You'll fall in love with Zade just like I did... or not. Maybe, I'm just twisted lol. I mean realistically woman would be terrified of this man but the way he overpowered her, controlled her and protected her made me want Zade in my life. JK. Maybe.

It was just too weird for me not only does she have a stalker but then he goes and rapes her with a gun I mean that's where I stopped I just couldn't bring myself to finish it after that

the cliffhanger at the end wasn't giving what everyone said it would give. the romance is weird as fuck, i love a good dark romance but this one was meh. the start is so goddamn boring like i wanted to dnf this at least 10 times. it wasn't for me and i will not be reading the sequel. 2 stars for good writing tho
