This book starts off so strong and from there it’s nearly impossible to put down. Two missing girls, similar cases, and an unsolved mystery that just gets to you. Seven years later, their sisters are still reeling from the loss and are forced into an uneasy alliance to chase down the truth. At its core, this book is about sisterhood and the lengths we’ll go to for the truth.

What really elevated this one for me was the twist near the end. I did NOT see it coming at all, and it completely reframed everything I thought I knew. It’s the kind of reveal that makes you want to go back and retrace every breadcrumb. That said, Nic, the main character, was downright insufferable (I get that was intentional, but whew, she was annoying).

Overall, a solid 4.25 star read for me. Emotional, tense, and a final act that left me stunned. If you love character-driven thrillers with a heavy emotional pull and a jaw-dropping twist, this is one to pick up. And yes, the last line had me nodding because it was exactly what I was thinking. I’ll definitely be checking out Ashley Flowers’ first book.

Ashley Flowers does it again!!! The twist at the end was more than just a twist. This book kept me intrigued and was never dull. I felt like I was solving it with Nic.
