I was excited to read this book as it was on my TBR for so long. I initially found the book on instagram but saw it on Facebook too. A lot of readers from a Facebook group compared Natalie Barelli’s writing style similar to Freida McFadden which I was looking forward to. There were definitely some similarities, the twist defined did shock me and I didn’t see it coming.
The main character Clare annoyed me so much that I ended up considering not finishing the book. Hannah was warm and welcoming in inviting Hannah into her life but in my opinion she was a bit too trustful especially when it came to her daughter Mia.
Overall it was an enjoyable read but I feel it didn’t come together well at the end.

The beginning of this book was slow and boring. Claire’s character is very unlikable. I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not, but I kept reading. It ended up being a good read and had some unexpected twists.

Rounding up what I would actually give a 3.75 maybe. This book starts strong and finishes strong. Several page-turning twists. It does have long pats that drag out a bit. I don’t think it goes exactly where most people think. My only complaint is that gets into the explanations too much and that takes away from the suspense. I still enjoyed it and couldn’t wait to see what happened. Print or audio would be fine either way.

Wow

Ok, no spoilers here, but this was a great book and had me fooled all the way until the end of it.

Honestly, meh. I was pretty bored through most of it. I thought the performance was fine. I liked the ending and outcome, but would not call this a thriller at all.

If you can hang on to Chapter 33… your mind will be blown. It’s easy to get caught up in and frustrated with Claire’s crazy immature tantrums but the end is not be be missed.
