Picked this up because I love Xe Sands's narration, but the mc's stupidity finally broke through my suspension of disbelief in the nonchalant way she deals with (or rather doesn't) the loss of her prescription medication .
The mc swallowing the legend of the evil wendigo without any unpacking had also been giving me doubts, which turned out to be reasonable considering its never brought up again according to other reviewers. Would have been a nice way to introduce a subversion of a classic racist trope.
