I only wish it had more depth, but that was just because I wanted more! Very atmospheric, very well written, the narrator did an amazing job. a captivating slow read.

I especially loved how the bond between Tobias and Henry was gently grown, slow and quiet but strong, just like the wood itself.

A dark, lush re-telling of the Green Man folk tale. Perfect reading for a rainy summer night.

I didn’t know I needed this novella (or duology for that matter) until I picked this up. For starters I may be biased—I have been fascinated with the green man folklore since I was a child and I love how the author portrayed him in this story. Tobias is a large stoic but kind man with a darkish backstory. I appreciate the queer representation and I find Tobias and Henry very cute flirting back and forth. Henry is a bit of a dork if I’m being honest but both MMCs are likable and believable. There are some dark twists in this book that I enjoyed …that also made me cry, but overall I loved this book so much I bought it after returning it to the library.

This story is so beautiful that I wanted to cry the entire time and I saved every second for as long as possible. It had such a dreamy, ethereal quality that I just wanted to live inside forever. Everything felt so effortless. I can only wish it was longer.
