The end of loneliness is a beautiful book with beautiful concepts. Unfortunately, the writing isn’t as intricate as I’d expected. The book centers around Jules whose orphaned early on and essentially looses the connection with his siblings while in boarding school. This book rotates around loneliness and love and unable to do anything with it. In the book, Jules or maybe Marty mentions the belief that the antidote to loneliness is emotional security and that’s something I’ll always live by. It’s true, the book proves it. The siblings have one thing in common. They look for connection in things that are unattainable or inconsistent and relying on things of this sort only results in the loneliness being fueled. As the story progress, we learn that yes, emotional security is the antidote. It’s what we all need within ourselves and then, through the people that surrounds us. These siblings only attain that emotional security once they begin to communicate with each other about their childhood and grievances. As mentioned previously, this book is has beautifully ideas of loneliness, the realization of loneliness, and lastly, the antidote to loneliness but, unfortunately it isn’t crafted beautifully, then again, it’s a translation.
