A non-fiction investigation into toxic masculinity, and the hope of mindful masculinity in our modern world.

This is a powerful read for anyone. It examines how our patriarchal system harms everyone, with a focus on the unique limitations men face due to the spoken/unspoken roles they’re expected to fulfill in society. The patriarchy puts men in a box from a very early age and anyone who doesn’t fit into the definition of masculinity is shamed.

I especially enjoyed that this used a lot of academic sources and anecdotal stories from men.

Every person regardless of gender identity needs to read this book (especially if you call yourself a feminist). I believe it is an important resource towards saving our humanity in this crazy world. This book breaks down a lot of male gender stereotypes and explains why patriarchal society and culture is harmful to everyone (including men). I also recommend you check out Liz on the "Man Enough" podcast.
