Couldn’t put it down. People don’t talk enough about this series. I’m loving it so far and already started the next book.

honestly i really did not like this book. a lot of plot points were way too convenient (literally everything that happened in the shieldbearer-guardian trials) and so much stuff felt underdeveloped and fell flat. there were also a lot of things that didn’t make sense for the characters,

like thea having worked her entire life to be a warrior but then the second she has the opportunity to she puts her reputation and validity (in the eyes of her peers) on the line just to fuck around with hawthorne.

when i was reading the first 3/4 of this book i was down to read the next one in the series, but the last 1/4 just ruined everything for me, so i will not be continuing on to book 2.
