I’m curious on book 2. Didn’t love the book, didn’t hate the book more just curious on where the author will take book 2. I wish there was more character development in the book. I wish the plot was more evolved.
I enjoyed it enough to read the next book. I’m still not sure about hawthorn, I am not the biggest fan of the “I love her but got to be mean” trope but we’ll see how it plays out in the next book

That said, the pacing dragged in places, and a few plot points felt a bit too convenient or underdeveloped. Still, the strengths outweighed the flaws, and I’m curious to see where the series goes from here.

this one was just so much fun. most of my reasoning for my five-star review is just because i just had so much fun with my reading experience.
i loved wilder and thea so much. i think they have amazing chemistry, and I'm really hoping for more spice in the second book, but also more emotional moments between the two of them!
i think this book was also a good setup for the next books in the series. good world-building, enough conflict, enough development of supporting characters. and i mean, i immediately picked up the second book after finishing this one, so helen scheurerer definitely did something right. i can't wait to see where cal and kipp and wren's storyline is going to go!

just finished re-reading this. it’s so enjoyable and keeps you on your toes. I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, i’m hoping book 2 will help me get to know Seb more (ik he’s a piece of shit but i’d love to learn his backstory IF he has one) ik vernich is an asshole too BUT PLEASE DONT MAKE HIM THE VILLAIN!! im hoping him and seb become allies to the rest and build a strong bond!! sad that lachin died but thankfully we didn’t get time to get attached to him or i would have sobbed lol
This was unexpected. After the first couple of chapters I was hooked! I truly didn’t even notice how fast I was getting through this book. Absolutely LOVED the writing in this, really clear but so descriptive.
The FMC was great, strong willed & minded without being OTT, focused but believable. I really enjoyed taking in her story and her passion was infective! The slow burn, is truly BURNING

This book hooked me from the very beginning - I could not put it down. The female empowerment, the found family, the banter back and forth. Loved, loved, loved.
